Newborns to Ten Year Olds
Monica’s license allows her to take care of your child ranging from 6 weeks old to ten years. She has experience with kids ranging from newborns to teenagers, and has worked with children with developmental and learning disorders.
Monica is open to full time care of your child, part time, or seasonal. Whatever what your care demands are, Monica can work with your schedule flexibly.
Bilingual Learning and Kindergarten Prep
Monica’s Daycare is unique in that she will teach your child in both Spanish and English. Your children will be taught basic arithmetic, alphabets, and words in both languages. During this time in your child’s life, his or her brain can quickly pick up linguistic skills. There are many benefits to being bilingual that will put your children ahead of developmental milestones.
Mi Escuelita also let’s children express their natural creative talents through daily art projects, dancing, and music. Monica tailors her teachings to each individual child’s needs, talents, and interests.
Safe, Clean, and Stimulating Environment
Monica’s home has a large, safe space for your child’s needs, including a fenced-in backyard. Her neighborhood is tucked in and quiet.
Every crib, chair, and toy is approved by her licensing. Toys are carefully picked by following guidelines, and will provide your child with enjoyment while also teaching him or her spacial awareness, colors, and more!
Large tables allow the kids to work together and begin socializing at an early age. Her four season patio let’s the children observe the outdoors while playing at the same time.
Meet Monica
Monica was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. Her first role as a caretaker was as a foster parent in Southern California 25 years ago. She has been passionate about child care and child development since then. She is a mother to three kids (now young adults) and raised them in her warm home with her husband of 25 years, Luis.
Ten years ago, Monica opened up Monica’s Daycare, Mi Escuelita (my little school) so that she could help parents take care of their children in a happy, safe, educational, and evidence-based home.
Monica’s Daycare is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Her business is registered as an LLC with the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State. Monica and Luis are both trained in CPR, SIDS, and have earned their National Childhood Development Associate (CDA) certificate, an important credential in early childhood development. In addition, Monica is certified by the Child Care and Nutrition Inc. (CCNI), a credential earned after demonstrating knowledge and a nutritious meal plan for children.
